Hike from the Lake Carezza to the Malga Frommer Alm

This beautiful hike leads from the legendary Lake Carezza over the new suspension bridge trough the Passo Costalunga/ Karerpass, from where you hike across the mountain meadows at the foot of the Catinaccio/ Rosengarten to the Frommer Alm hut.

Take highway´s exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the left in direction to Nova Levante and continue until the Lake Carezza (about 30 min. from highway toll booth).

After you have paid at the pay machine, you have 15 minutes to leave the parking lot.

From the suspension bridge, after the Lake Carezza car park, follow path [6] to above the Karerpass/ Passo Costalunga. Then hike on trail [1A] below the Rosengarten, past the Ochsenhütte and on to the Frommer Alm/mountain station of the cable car. Departure with the cable car to Welschnofen.
