Hike over the Samberg Mountain

This worthwhile forest hike provides countless panoramic views of the Alpine mountain chain.

Take highway's exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the right and continue to Ega (about 30 min. from highway toll booth).

Parking in the centre of the village.

The starting point is the pretty village centre of Ega/Eggen (1,120 m). Trail [7A] leads past the Grotthof farm and trail [S] to the Häusler Sam tavern, a worthwhile place to call in for refreshments. Häusler Sam’s magnificent location invites hikers to rest and relax. Return via hiking trail [8] to the Bewallerhof hotel and on trail [8B] and [10] straight back to the village of Ega.
