Winter Hike from the Malga Frommer to the Baita "Ochsenhütte"

Very nice path through the wood below the foot of the Rosengarten/Catinaccio.
From the mountain station of the cable car Laurin I or the car park at the Frommer Alm, the hiking trail [1A] starts, which leads at the foot of the Rosengarten/Catinaccio below the street Via Nigra.

 

Take highway's exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the left and continue to Nova Levante, Carezza and then in the direction of the Passo Nigra until the mountain station of the cable car Laurin l (about 40 min. from highway toll booth).

With the public bus line 185 via Tires or via Nova Levante with the line 180 or 184 with change to the line 185 at Paolina; bus stop: Malga Frommer Alm; online bus timetables: www.suedtirolmobil.info/en/

Trail [1A] leads below the road Via Nigra along the foot of the Rosengarten/Catinaccio and after a short section along the road you reach the Ochsenhütte.
Walking time there and back: approx. 2 hours
