A special characteristic of the marmot is its whistle, which has the function of warning its companions from danger. One time this animals whistled even at the encounter with people, however nowadays most of them are confiding in us. With a bit of luck you might even come a cross one of those animals on this trail.

The hike starts from Hotel Cendevaves at Monte Pana in S. Crisitina, which you can reach by taking the chairlift Monte Pana from the centre of S. Cristina (free car park at the valley station). You can reach Monte Pana also by private car (chargeable car park) or by foot (approx. 40 min and 200 m of elevation).

From Monte Pana a path n.30, crossing meadows and woods, leads to Saltria. After it continues the path n.9 until arriving at the Tirler hut, from there you continue up to the Zallinger Hut. The you continue up to the “Plan de Cunfin” and finally we get to the start point.
