Winter hike to the huts Schönrast - Schmieder - Laner

This route leads across snow covered forests and wintry landscapes to different huts, which invite to relax. While doing so, typical south tyrolean food can be tasted.

Take highway´s exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the right and continue to Nova Ponente (30 minutes from the Bozen Nord/Eggental autobahn exit). At the roundabout in Nova Ponente, take the third exit to Monte S. Pietro.

Parking opposite the inn Weber directly after the turn-off to Pietralba.

Starting from Petersberg follow trail [1] to the place of pilgrimage Maria Weißenstein. From there you reach via path [15] to the Schönrast hut and then the Schmieder hut. At this point, take the Gorz path that leads you to the Laner hut. Via path [2A] you reach again path [15]. From there the way back is the same as the way there.
