The Karer See is one of the most magnificent Alpine lakes, famed for its dark green water and the beautiful mountain backdrop.
Take highway´s exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the left and continue to Nova Levante until the cable car (about 20 min. from highway toll booth).

The hike starts with snowshoes at the Civil Defence Centre in Nova Levante and leads along path [27] to the Stadl Alm hut. Then without snowshoes you take path [25]. Afterwards follow path [25A] and on path [8] you can again continue with snowshoes until you reach Lake Carezza. Return on the same path.
