The Seiser Alm is a high plateau in the South Tyrolean Dolomites. It is the largest high plateau in Europe with an area of 56 square kilometers. The distinctive Schlern massif, which stretches into the sky like a giant finger, dominates the landscape.

The Seiser Alm is a popular destination for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts. In the summer, there are numerous hiking trails that lead through a varied landscape. In the winter, the slopes of the Seiser Alm are a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders.

In addition to its natural beauty, the Seiser Alm is also known for its numerous legends and tales. It is said that the Alm was once haunted by witches and other creatures. These legends lend the Seiser Alm a mystical atmosphere.

To get to the Seiser Alm, drive from Bozen Nord on the state road towards Brenner to Blumau. Here, turn off and follow the narrow road through the Schlern region. After about 18 kilometers, you will reach Seis am Schlern.

From Seis am Schlern, you can reach the Seiser Alm by car, shuttle bus, or cable car. Cars are only allowed for guests with disabilities and hotel guests on the Seiser Alm.

The Seiser Alm is a popular hiking destination in the Dolomites. From Seis am Schlern, we can reach the Seiser Alm by cable car. At the Kompatsch starting point, we follow a small gravel path down to the Puflatsch cable car. In the midst of the vast mountain meadows, we can enjoy the peace and quiet.

The Puflatsch cable car takes us up to 2,119 meters. Near the top station, there is the Engelrast, an observation point with views of the Schlern, Plattkofel, and Langkofel. Over the gentle hills of Puflatsch, we follow a wide path up to a plateau.

After a short stretch of flat ground, the descent to the Arnikahütte begins. The path leads over a few small hills and then has a steep drop. From the Arnikahütte, a steep footpath leads to a wooden cross. From this height, we can enjoy a magnificent view of Kastelruth and the surrounding area.

The return is along the same route.
