Winter Hike: From Ranui to hut Geisler Alm

A hike to a beautiful pasture beneath the Geisler Mountains. You can stop by to eat at the alpine hut Geisler Alm which offers also a playground for children.

Through the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley to Klausen/Chiusa; turn into Villnöss/Funes valley and drive to St. Johann – Ranui (car park subject to charge)

• Hiking time 3h 50min • Trail numbers: 28, 34A, 34, 33 • Starting point is the car park Ranui (1370 m). Follow forest road no. 28 and after a short while, turn left onto trail no. 34A. Continue through the forest until you reach a trail junction where you turn right onto trail no. 34. After about 40 minutes you get to the alpine hut Geisler Alm (2000 m). For return, follow again trail no. 34 and turn right to walk down to the stream Schwarzenbach. After about an hour of hiking, turn left onto trail no. 33 (1629 m) and follow the trail alongside the stream Villnösser Bach back to car park Ranui.
