Sas Rigais

Thanks to its bulky shape the Sas Rigais is considered one of the main peaks of the gruppo delle Odle. It reaches 3025 m of hight and therefore it is the highest summit together with the Furchetta.

The starting point is the valley station of the cable car Col Raiser, which is located in the municipality of Selva Gardena, but is not far from the centre of S. Cristina. It can be reached by internal shuttle buses or by car (chargeable parking on site).

From S. Cristina you start with the cable car to the top station of Col Raiser and follow the denomination "Sas Rigais" following in direction north-est to the junction Val de Mesdi and Sas Rigais. Following the sign Sas Rigais you climb the serpentine through a valley (Val dla Salieries) up into the forcella between Sas Rigais, 3025 m and Furchetta, 3025 m. The secured track takes you across ropes, walls and channels through the east flank up to the summit of Sas Rigais, 3025m. Attention rockfall. Descent: first down across the partly exposed but secured south crest and then traverse the southwest flank across slip rocks on steel cables secured to the secure trail, that leads you to the Forcella de Mesdi. Way back to the fork an to the top station of Col Raiser 2125m.
