Oachner Höfeweg Farm Trail

Mittel

3h 19min 11,30 km 610 m max 1012 m

The Völser Aicha Höfeweg farm trail is a beautiful hiking route through ancient farmsteads, mountain restaurants, vineyards and chestnut groves. This trail can be seen in all its glorious beauty in springtime when the mountain meadows are blossoming all around, and in autumn when the trees are decked in vibrant hues.

At Castle Prösels, you can take a trip back into the Middle Ages on a guided tour of the   Knights’ Hall, the castle chapel and other parts of the Renaissance castle and grounds.

The Völser Aicha farm trail begins at Prösels Castel. The bus 176 will take you from Seis and Völs to the castle and back.

The Aica di Fiè farm trail begins at Prösels Castel. Follow the signposts for “Oachner Höfeweg”, going past a few wine cellars (“Wirtskeller”) and through the wood up to the Flungerhof farm. Through mixed and chestnut woods, the trail leads high above the Eisack Valley and on to the farms of Tommele and Gmoaner. Passing by the Prackfolerhof farm and the Gstatschhof, the walk takes you through meadows and mountain vineyards to the Innerperskoler and the Zoarhof farm, where our path meets with the road and leads up to the Fronthof und Finger Hof farms. Now we head into the head down into the depths and the Lausbach stream, over a little suspension bridge and, on the other side, up again to the Tiers road. The way back leads past the Schnaggenkreuz cross, a good vantage point for views over Völs and the Schlern massif. Trail no. 5 leads back to Prösels.
