Hiking to Hofer Alpl and Tuff Alm

This hike takes you to two alpine pastures high above Völs and offers stunning views of the Schlern and Hammerwand mountains.

Start

The hike starts in Ums at the church. Follow the signposts for "Hofer Alpl, Tuff Alm". After a few bends, a path branches off to the left for "Hofer Alpl, Schlern".

Ascent to Hofer Alpl

The path leads steeply uphill to Hofer Alpl. From there, it continues on a forest road and finally a footpath to Tuff Alm.

Path to Tuff Alm

The path to Tuff Alm joins the broad ascent path to the Schlern. The path crosses the Völser Bach stream and passes through wide alpine meadows to Tuff Alm.

Descent to Völser Weiher

Just before Tuff Alm, a stony path branches off to the left for Völser Weiher. The path leads through the forest and meets the gravel road to Tuff Alm.

Descent to Ums

After Huber Weiher, a hiking trail branches off to the left for Ums. The path leads down through a wooded stream valley and later over open meadows back to Ums.
