Seiser Alm

From Völs to Prösels Castel

Easy

1h 30min 4,38 km 137 m max 869 m

On this hike, you will discover the historical Castle Prösels, which was built by the Lords of Völs in 1200. Here you can immerse yourself in the past and take part in guided tours. Boredom is definitely not an option. This hike can also be found in the family hiking book "Mein kleines Hexe Nix Wanderheft" (Hike No. 5).

The starting point is in Völs am Schlern. If you are not already there, take the Line 2 or the regional buses 170 and 176 to Völs. In Prösels, there is a connection to the Line 176, which will take you back to Völs am Schlern or Tiers.

The hike starts at the tourist information office in Völs am Schlern and follows the path No. 6 and the signpost towards "Castle Prösels" through meadows and past farms. After crossing the Tschafon stream, the path leads slightly uphill through the village of Prösels to the castle. We recommend a castle tour, which you can inquire about at the information office or directly at the castle. You can return by taking the bus (Line 176) or hiking back along the same path. There are several places to stop for refreshments along the way.
