The Laranzer Wald is a popular hiking destination in South Tyrol, Italy. The easy trail is ideal for families and offers everything a hiker could want: fresh forest air, stunning views of the Dolomites, and a regal view from the Königswarte.

The hike begins in Telfen and initially leads through meadows and fields. After a short time, the trail ascends gently through a dense forest. At the top, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Dolomites. The highest peak, the Seiser Alm, is within reach.

Those who want to enjoy an even more special view can continue to the Königswarte. From here, hikers have a unique view of the Eisack Valley and the Rittner Plateau.

The hike is approximately 7 kilometers long and takes about 3 hours.

The hike starts in Telfen. You can get there by taking the lines 3, 3a, 4, 10, and the intercity buses 170 and 177.

The hike starts in Telfen at the foot of the Schlern. From the sports facility, the path initially leads along a paved road towards Laranz. After a short time, the path branches off to the right and continues on a gravel path.

The path leads over meadows with views of Seis and the Schlern. Before the Ansitz Laranz, the path climbs up along the edge of the forest.

The path now leads through a pine forest to the Königswarte. This viewpoint was named after King Friedrich August of Saxony, who particularly appreciated the view during his stays in Seis.

From the Königswarte, the path continues in gentle ups and downs through the pine forest. It eventually merges into a paved road that leads back to Telfen.
