Walk around the Völser Weiher Lake

Very easy

0h 20min 1,20 km

Hiking around Lake Völs is a beautiful experience set in the picturesque landscape of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park at the foot of the impressive Schlern mountain. In 2017, the lake was awarded the prestigious "Vela blu" prize for its excellent water quality. On hot summer days, it provides a refreshing escape from the heat, while in winter it turns into an ice skating rink. Surrounded by dense, dark green forests at the foot of the majestic Schlern, the lake is a truly idyllic destination for hikers.

During the summer months, from early June to mid-September, public bus line 13 runs from Völs and St. Anton to Lake Völs. Alternatively, there are paid parking options available at the lake. The lake is also a popular destination for mountain bikers.

This pleasant circular hike is suitable for people of all ages and can even be tackled with a stroller. The starting point is located at the nature park information center and follows a flat route along the lake shore, which is partially surrounded by dense reeds. During the walk around Lake Völs, hikers can enjoy an impressive view of the majestic walls of the Schlern and the Santner peak. For an additional refreshment, there is even a short Kneipp course available on the lakeshore.
