Winter hike from Seis to St. Valentin to Kastelruth

Very easy

0h 58min 3,11 km 157 m max 1163 m

A pleasant and sunny winter hike leads from Seis through St. Valentin to Kastelruth. The path offers beautiful views of the villages at the foot of the Schlern and the impressive Santner-Spitze.

You can reach the starting point in the center of Seis am Schlern from Kastelruth and Völs am Schlern with bus line 170. There are also parking possibilities in the underground car park in the center.

From the village center of Seis, follow hiking trail no. 7 (turn right shortly after the post office) towards St. Valentin. After a short detour to the church of the same name, continue along the path and cross the road to the Seiser Alm.

The path leads through the former pest cemetery and merges with path no. 6 at the Marienbildstöckl. Continue to the "Schererplatzl" and gently descend through the meadows to Kastelruth. You can either return the same way or take the bus as an alternative.

(also recommended in the opposite direction, beginning in Kastelruh)
